Some websites help you to hide IP

Every PC have a IP when it connect to internet. It like a your home address. You can type website http://cmyip.com/ or google.com to check your computer's IP. Everyone can know where you are from. But you sometimes want to hide it for security reasons.
How to hide it???
There are a lot of free softwares that help you do it, but them are not often stable.
